Every personalized page NeuroPage generates is served under your own domain — visitors never see a NeuroPage URL. This section explains how to connect a domain and troubleshoot common DNS issues.

## Why a custom domain matters

When a prospect opens their personalized page, the URL in the browser reads `pages.yourcompany.com/abc-sarah-chen`. They see your brand, not NeuroPage. This builds trust and improves deliverability: many email security tools flag links to unfamiliar third-party domains.

---

## Adding a domain

1. Navigate to **Settings** → **Domains**
2. Click **Add domain**
3. Enter the full subdomain you want to use, for example `pages.yourcompany.com`
   - You can use any subdomain (`go.`, `links.`, `landing.`, etc.)
   - Apex domains (`yourcompany.com`) are not supported — use a subdomain
4. Copy the CNAME record:
   - **Name/Host**: your subdomain (e.g., `pages`)
   - **Value/Target**: provided by NeuroPage (e.g., `cname.neuropage.io`)
5. Add the CNAME record at your DNS provider

## DNS provider instructions

### Cloudflare
1. Log in to Cloudflare → select your domain
2. Click **DNS** → **Add record**
3. Type: `CNAME`, Name: `pages`, Target: the value from NeuroPage
4. Set proxy status to **DNS only** (grey cloud) — do not proxy through Cloudflare

### GoDaddy
1. Go to **My Products** → **Manage DNS**
2. Click **Add** under Records
3. Type: `CNAME`, Host: `pages`, Points to: the value from NeuroPage, TTL: `1 hour`

### AWS Route 53
1. Open your hosted zone in Route 53
2. Click **Create record**
3. Record type: `CNAME`, Record name: `pages`, Value: the value from NeuroPage

### Namecheap
1. Go to **Domain List** → **Manage** → **Advanced DNS**
2. Click **Add New Record**
3. Type: `CNAME Record`, Host: `pages`, Value: the value from NeuroPage

---

## Verifying your domain

After adding the DNS record, return to **Settings** → **Domains** and click **Verify**. NeuroPage performs a DNS lookup every 30 seconds.

- **DNS propagation** typically takes 1–10 minutes, but can take up to 48 hours in rare cases
- Once verified, the status changes to **Active** and an SSL certificate is automatically provisioned

---

## Assigning a domain to a campaign

By default, all campaigns use the first verified domain on your account. You can assign a specific domain to a campaign:

1. Open a campaign → **Settings** → **Domain**
2. Select the domain from the dropdown
3. Save — all pages in that campaign will be served from the selected domain

This is useful if you run campaigns for multiple brands from one account.

---

## Troubleshooting

### Status stuck on "Pending"

- Wait at least 5 minutes after adding the CNAME record
- Confirm the record was saved at your DNS provider — reload the DNS settings page and check it is listed
- Use a DNS checker (e.g., [dnschecker.org](https://dnschecker.org)) to verify propagation
- If using Cloudflare, ensure the proxy status is set to **DNS only** (grey cloud)

### Certificate error after verifying

SSL certificate provisioning takes up to 2 minutes after verification. If the error persists after 5 minutes, remove the domain and re-add it.

### Pages show a "Domain not configured" error

The domain is verified but not assigned to a campaign. Go to your campaign settings and select the domain, or check that no other campaign has claimed it exclusively.

## Multiple domains

You can add multiple domains to one account — useful for agencies managing several clients. Each domain can be assigned to one or more campaigns independently.
